On my way down Thurston Road this evening I noticed a new police camera on the corner with Rosalind and Thurston. It looked a little different then the one on LeHigh, and looked like the ones that were used on Park Ave for the Park Ave Fest. Those ones are temporary, and are made to be moved from location to location as needed. Maybe we are having an impact, and the city is listening. The new camera is right across the street from Angelo's Market. So maybe all our calls have been heard?

Excellent!!! thanks for the heads up and great news! I frequently drive down Thurston just to be a presence...
Our collective call has indeed been heard. Help keep it loud and clear by joining Councilperson Adam McFadden's Thurston Road project. It meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at Staybridge Suites. Watch for news of a website coming soon.
Thank Marian. I was at the first meeting, signed up for email notification, but never heard anything about when the next meeting was going to be held. I think, with enough momentum we can make some changes on Thurston Road.
I thought that theMcFadden meetings were going to be held at the Presbyterian Home on Thurston??
I'm sorry - you're right, Margy. Adam's Thurston Road meetings WILL be held at the Presbyterian Home on Thurston Road on the 4th Wednesday, as far as I'm aware. (My confusion results from Adam's having attended the last 19WCA Public Safety Committee meeting, which is held at Staybridge Suites. Same guy, content, and format - different time and place!)

I'll contact him or John Borek, his assistant, and ask them to publicize it.
Thanks- it would be great to get the information out to as many people as possible and also know when the website is up and running! I believe that Adam joined Location19 so maybe he will see this message and let us know for sure.
Can we get some clarification on this camera as far as being permanent or temporary? It has been a long-standing issue with our block club members to have a camera placed there.
Permanent.... I met with the mayor and he was on board with placing the camera there long term! We have some other issues to work through because the trees cut off the sight lines to some locations on the street that need an extra pair of eyes.......
The Streetwatch meeting will be every fourth wednesday at the Presbyterian Home on Thurston Road. I am working on getting an intern to work on our communication and website. I have a major announcement coming at the next meeting!
thanks for your work on this Adam. Since I work Wednesday evenings, could you please post minutes or some notice about what when on in the meetings on this site? thanks again.
What happened to the Thurston Road Public Safety meeting tonight? It IS the fourth Wednesday?
I had it in my calendar too, from awhile back, unfortunately I couldn't go tonight or next week, conflicts. See you in the future.
