This Southwest Garden Group meeting was held at the St. Monica rectory on November 23rd. Marian Boutet made a presentation on the pruning of plants such as geraniums to prepare them for winter and how to make cuttings. Below is a link to a Kodak Gallery album of the meeting. Our next meeting will be Monday, November 22, at 7:00 pm at St. Monica's Church, 831 Genesee Street. Park in the lot between the church and the Family Dollar Store. We'll meet in a conference room in the office building just behind the church.

We'll talk about houseplants - over-wintering and/or problems you may be having with yours. Please bring any plant that may be giving you trouble and we'll try to figure out what's going on with it.

If you plan to attend, please post a note here so we can plan for refreshments.

Would anyone like some of those orange daylilies that are ubiquitous in the Ward? I dug a bunch out of my garden and they are free to a good home. :)

Two of us from Winbourne Rd are going to Wayside Gardens for classes: Sunday, Sept 27, Design your garden-2pm clinic; St. 10 am, Oct 17 Fallscaping (and winterizing). Other riders are welcome. We may stop for lunch too.

On Sunday, September 20, 5:30 pm, we'll meet at St. Monica's Church, 831 Genesee Street. Mary Felder, a Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener, will discuss three noxious weeds common in our area. I'll bring information about plants that are sold in local garden centers that have become invasive weeds and should be avoided.
