Thank you for your thoughts and concerns Margy. Would you send your sentiments to Cmdr Ciminelli, email in the minutes?

THanks for posting this MacClurg and for helping to keep us informed! Like Shawn, I am not happy about the withholding of public information from concerned citizens. I think that it's outrageous that we have to jump through hoop after hoop to get in…

Pls email Cmdr Ciminelli with your concerns. He may allow this report out if he hears from folks. There is nothing revealing or controversial about the CrimeStats report. It is something else we don't know about.

Thanks for the update MacClurg. I have to say I am very disappointed that the CrimeStat report is being with held. That is one of THE key pieces in keeping 19th Ward residents informed about what is going on. Maybe some censoring of sensitive inform…

Having worked locally in the security business for over six years, I would recommend ADT. Please be aware that if you live in the City, you must first apply for an alarm permit. You can call 428-6617 for more information. Of course, there is most l…

My parents have always had ADT and been very happy with the service. However, I have never found alarm systems to make me feel any safer, in fact the opposite.

And, given the incident described a week or so ago where a dog was barricaded and maybe injured by the bad guys it might make sense to get a system to protect our homes AND our dogs!! Anyone have recommendations (pro and con) for a company that you…

Pac Tac Saturation Ride

Topic: Pac Tac Saturation Ride, Wednesday 9/16/2009, 6:30 p.m. from the NSC office, 923 Genesee St.

Hi all….

I know it seems early for this talk…… but the days are getting shorter already. I would like to continue the Saturation Rides for as long as possible, but it is getting dark before we head in, so please make sure you have working lights on your bike. I can usually scrounge up batteries here if need be.

If any of you new hires want to join us, please do, and show up about 15 minutes ear… Continue

Hello!

At our Feral Cat Group meeting yesterday Marian Boutet recommended you as a resource for grantwriting help. Would you be willing to meet with me (and I hope Margy Meath) to make sure that as our group gets information and ideas together for a project that we are hoping to fund for next spring that we're covering all the bases?

Many thanks,

Alice Carli

thanks Mark, I called the city contact and they are sending me paperwork in mail, probably what you refer to.

To get free City bulbs, you do need a license for a public garden. Ask Joanne Demarle for details. They are picked up at the City distribution site for free, on a certain date and time. I am sorry I threw out the info.

The license is free.

In order to get the free bulbs from the city, you must be planting them in a certified city public garden. Thus the license. It is an easy process.

Hi MacClurg-
I am pretty sure that we didn't need a license to plant bulbs- Sheri Tehan did the organizing for this. I think that she was able to get some city bulbs but I am not sure of the details as to how/where, etc..... In addition to the city bulbs, several residents also added their own bulbs into the mix. It looked really great this past Spring!
Good luck!

I would like to thank those who responded re grocery shopping. Another facet of that: what convenience/small grocery/speciality foods stores in the Winrbourne end of 19thWNA would you recommend?

Since I work at Wegmans I'm a little bias, but then again Im very dissapointed that they only have one city store left, on East Ave. I myslef do not like the produce at Tops. It seems even after washing it, the produce just does not last. I am gratful that Tops is a big supporter of the 19th Ward, and they seem committed to staying here.

I'm so sorry MacClurg. But welcome to the neighborood. I hope you find it a great place to live. The 19th ward is not perfect, but I love it! If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

ps I'm not too sure about food markets besides Tops on West Ave. You can check the local corner stores, but I'm going to say they are mostly "conveniences foods". The best bet is maybe catching a ride over to the Public Market.
